Daniel has struggled with feelings of loneliness and purposelessness during quarantine. While his living arrangement wasn’t changed much, being in grade-school, he suffered from the loss of time with his friends, as well as a loss in motivation to complete online school work. For most younger students, online teaching simply isn’t engaging enough to fuel their education. By college, most students have chosen a career path based on a core interest, but during general education, the loss of hands-on teaching could result in chronic directionless learning. I think many students, especially younger ones, feel they are falling into this void both in their social and academic experiences.
